I thought I would post the contribution from my side to welfare of animals.
It starts with the animals I have in home:
1. a dog
2. 15 cats (includes 6 unnamed kittens)
And let me justify the reason I have these pets in my home.
1. These were homeless animals left in street.
2. The effects it may take if they continue to be in roads,
a. Risk of being hit by the vehicles in road.
b. Risk of being left in hunger.
I thank my family for tolerating my menace. :)
And now, I am trying to become an active member - Blue Cross of India.
Recently, Have installed donation boxes from Blue Cross of India at a famous book bank here at Chennai. My friends would have guessed the name right :)
I thank book bank management (sir & my friends) for agreeing for this noble cause.
I request the people to adopt at least one pet left homeless in road / Blue Cross.

If don't have an option for an adoption, try donating to the organization which involve themselves to help the helpless animals.

There are several organizations which dedicates themselves for the welfare of the animals.
Knowledge removes ignorance. Spread the word around the people.
Make people think about the creatures created by God which as all the rights he has in this world. So share the earth with them.
Try stopping deforestation. Building homes / farm houses near forest area.
Instead of complaining "Animals are coming into the places where the humans live". Do correct the sentence, only humans are exploiting the forests, disturbing animals and the ecology of the earth.
Hope I had spoke much and expressed everything right :-)
Final note, Recently Actor Karthi has adopted a white tiger cub from Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Chennai.
