Time to participate in the Water Bowl project!

Dear Friends,

Summer has begun and we are glad to inform you that a project initiated by Sarita Raturi of IDA (In Defense of Animals, Mumbai) has made waves across the country and is now in full swing in the South as well. The Water Bowl project is proof that we can change hundreds of lives with a simple act of kindness - there are already 500 bowls in place across the country, filled with water and left in convenient areas for birds, dogs, cats and cattle to drink from! Each of these bowls has been installed by individuals like you and me - we need to do nothing other than to fix a cement or earthenware bowl in a public space or outside apartment complexes and ensure that it is filled with water as and when we pass by. Neighbours and friends can take turns doing this and the result is prevention of severe dehydration that strikes all homeless animals during our harsh summers.
If you'd like to provide relief to a thirsty animal, it's easy and Water Bowl volunteers are happy to assist you with any clarifications you might have like bowl size and texture.
Check out the Facebook group "Chennai Animal Lovers Club" for more details or email contacttags@gmail.com for more info. The Facebook page has a form that you can fill to volunteer to get this done in your own locality. It doesn't require much time or energy and is a convenient way for each of us to take care of our respective neighbourhoods.

Are you on twitter? Do tweet about our thirsty animal friends and also appeal to friends through Orkut, Facebook and blogs to put out water for them during this time of year and save lives. Thank you for your kindness!
Best wishes and have a great summer,
